2018 Bwhwc, Sacramento Fitness Demo
The BWHWC will provide our attendees with an amazing fitness demonstration, led by the Hundreds Unit. The Hundreds Unit is a diverse network of hundreds of women who work out collectively for 8 weeks, to perform at MAJOR events. What makes the Hundreds Unit unique is that they consist of women from ALL shapes, sizes, ages, and levels of ability, dancing as one UNIT in their own unique way. This process exposes the women of the Unit to different forms of workout regimens, it encourages them to strive to accomplish their health and wellness goals regardless of how they presently may feel about themselves, and provides networking opportunities with in the Unit as the group encompasses woman from different backgrounds and careers. The Unit is designed to nurture the mind, body, and soul, long term through empowerment provided through our Units. Hundreds Unit is changing the lives of these women, by providing them with extraordinary experiences and opportunities that they would only dream of having. The Unit has performed on major platforms such as the Golden One Center and Raley's Field and at major events such as the Black Women's March, the Mahogany Festival, the California State Fair, and V101 Summer Jam Concerts. Each performance has been dynamic, interactive, and inspiring for its participants and audience.
The Hundred's Unit was founded in 2015 by Venetia James and Phyllis Cook, whose passion for dance, fitness, and women's empowerment encouraged them to create an opportunity where all women can optimize their physical, emotional and spiritual wellness through dance! With over 25 years of professional dance experience, Phyllis and Venetia are a dynamic duo that believes in the power of unity and building women inside out while honoring our stories and celebrating our worth. They believe that strength is in US!
We are honored to have the Hundreds Unit join us this year and provide an interactive demonstration of one of their amazing choreographies. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT!! Come ready to sweat. For more information on the Hundreds Unit, click HERE!
